Our Purpose and Principles
The Industrial Architects was established to fill a specific niche: the need for a non-sensationalist, fact-based resource on American industrial history. Our work is dedicated to documenting and analyzing the period from the mid-19th to the early 20th century, a time of unprecedented transformation in the nation's economic and social fabric.
We operate on a foundation of strict neutrality. The individuals and corporations we study are presented through the lens of historical records, business documents, and contemporary accounts. Our goal is not to praise or condemn, but to understand and explain the complex mechanisms of their influence, their business strategies, their rivalries, and their lasting legacies.
This approach allows us to delve into controversial topics like monopolies and labor disputes with the same analytical rigor we apply to technological innovation and infrastructural development. By stripping away modern biases, we aim to provide a clearer view of the past as it was.
